Business Intelligence
Business
Intelligence functionality was released in January of 2002. Unlike
a lot of Business Intelligence tools, ours does more than just extract
data. Using a third party tool that we have interfaced into our
solutions, you will be able to easily create your own reports (summarize
data, create newly calculated fields, etc.).
Contact Management Capability
A number
of our customers have requested that we provide a method for monitoring
the effectiveness of their sales department. In response, MFG/EDP
will be releasing its Contact Management System (CMS) in January
of 2002. CMS is Internet enabled and can be purchased as a stand
alone product. Alternatively, for a monthly fee, you may subscribe
to use the application on one of MFG/EDP's servers.
* Find out how many leads were generated by your sales department
in a given timeframe.
* Find out how many times each lead was contacted.
* Find out how many of your leads turned into customers.
E-Commerce
The First Level Document Distribution System integrates both incoming documents (EDI) and outgoing documents (Supply Chain) with MFG/EDP's First Level software solution, using the World Wide Web. Any supplier with a PC and Internet access can exchange documents with First Level applications.
FROM page 1 if you click on the First Level picture you get to the text that describes the software. To the right of the heading Production and below Finite Scheduling the heading INFINITE SCHEDULING shoul be added. The text for infinite scheduling is as follows.
Infinite scheduling is based on your shipping requirements. Schedules are calculated based on the quanitity and date required and back calculated to arrive at a start date based on net pieces per hour, hours available, and set up time. Finished inventory on hand is also taken into account. Overdue jobs are highlighted with the ability to assign the overdue jobs to machines or employees. Raw material requirements are also calculated and projected requirements may be viewed, printed or sent via e-mail directly to suppliers.
Eliminate Forms
The ability to generate 8-1/2 x 11 forms for the following documents has been added to the system. This capability eliminates the need for preprinted forms.

Internet Capability
All
of MFG/EDP's solutions are now Internet enabled. You can run any
application from any location, provided you have access to the Internet,
and your iSeries server has been web enabled.
Micro Estimating
Interface
A
seamless interface between Micro Estimating's estimating program
and First Level is now available. The interface creates routings,
bills of material and inventory items from estimates.
Wireless
Hand-Held Data Entry
First
Level now supports wireless transactions directly to your iSeries
server. The hand held device with bar code capability can perform
the following transactions:
* Physical inventories
* Issues to and receipts from jobs
* ASN's
* Cycle counts
